Bye Bye Birdie: AEA and Non-AEA Auditions
NPT is seeking both AEA and non equity actors ages 18 years and older to play the following roles in the upcoming production of The Bye Bye Birdie, performed at Black Rock Church Theatre.
NPT embraces multi-cultural, multi-gendered, and multi-generational casting. All ethnicities and abilities are ENCOURAGED to submit.
***Be sure to review our breakdown so that you can see which roles we are accepting submissions from AEA actors. (Only Rosie and Albert). We will also accept NON AEA for Albert and Rosie and those non AEA actors will be paid $300 per week/housing and round trip travel from point of origin. Do let us know if you have local housing though.
The rest of our cast will be non AEA and must be local. Some roles are also per diem. Chorus is unpaid. We have also previously had separate audition submissions for the role of Conrad so do not submit for that role

**Leading roles of Rosie and Albert: One or Two Guest artist contracts for AEA will be used. TIER ONE. $344 Per week, health and pension, housing and round trip travel. OR Non AEA- $300 per week, housing, round trip travel. Mrs. Peterson is cast. Conrad has separate casting.
The rest of the show will be cast with local non-AEA. Kim and Hugo will receive a per diem of $150 per week. The ensemble and small roles are unpaid. Please see the breakdown for the specifics on payment. Please let us know if you have local housing.
AEA and non AEA actor/singers ages 18 years and older for the roles listed in our casting breakdown above. All of the younger/teen roles listed will be filled with our NPT students who have applied and are registered for our summer production, except Kim and Hugo.

An Equity monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination. WEEK ONE: Sunday, July 28 -Read Thru by the cast. Then we rehearse Monday-Friday 6-10pm (with specific calls). Saturday and Sunday 12-7pm (with specific calls).
WEEK TWO: Tuesday-Friday 6-10pm (with specific calls) and Saturday and Sunday 12-7pm (Full cast run-thru)
WEEK THREE: Tech and Dress Rehearsals: Mon 3-10pm, Tues 3-10pm Thurs 3-10pm
Rehearsal Location: Emmanuel Church – 285 Lyons Plain Rd. Weston CT (first two weeks) Week three- Tech week- is at the theatre – Black Rock Church theatre- 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT
Weekday rehearsals: 6-10 pm for adults (AEA and other non-AEA leads may be called to rehearse during the day as well)
All Weekend rehearsals: 12-7pm ENTIRE cast (but specific calls times TBD)
Shows: Three shows the weekend of Aug 16t/17th (Friday evening 7pm and Saturday matinee 2pm and evening 7pm)
